Donald named to AFL Top Prospect team

Phillies minor league infielder Jason Donald was honored with a selection to the Arizona Fall League’s Top Prospect team for his performance in fall ball.

Donald, 24, hit .407/.476/.747 in 91 ABs for the Mesa Solar Sox. Those numbers are outlandish, but the AFL is very, very hitter-friendly. Don’t expect Donald to do this regularly in the Majors.

Still, cynicism aside, Donald looks more and more like a viable, in-house option for the Phils to use in the infield, should Utley or Feliz take longer to recover than expected.

  1. Jason Donald, you’re so dreamy. Be my everyday third baseman.
