Phils sign Chan Ho Park

The signing is official, says David Murphy. Not only that; we have details!

Park is signed for one year with a $2.5M base salary. He could earn up to $5M in incentives. A lot of speculation had Park becoming the next Chad Duribn/Clay Condrey, but that’s apparently not the case.

“I was a little worried about the Citizens Bank Park, the home of the Phillies, which is hitter-friendly…But as they considered me a starter, I signed with Philadelphia.”

A starter? Uh, all right. I guess he’s the new No. 4.

So that leaves us with certainties of Hamels, Myers, Blanton, and Park in the rotation, with J.A. Happ likely to win the fifth starter role.

Come on now, you didn’t honestly expect the Phillies of all teams to sign Derek Lowe, did you?
